Welcome to the website of girlygirl P.A.R.T.S TM (Pre-Screening Awareness Required To Silence…Ovarian Cancer). Our site is designed to provide you with information relating to ovarian cancer, and resources to assist you. We’ve outlined the details of our major awareness event -- the 5k Run/Walk for ovarian cancer—and look forward to your participation.
Ovarian cancer is one of the most deadly cancers, in part because the symptoms are so vague. It was diagnosed in more than 21,000 women in the United States in 2008 and killed more than 15,000. Although ovarian cancer is a relatively rare disease, it touches many lives - husbands, children, parents, brothers, sisters and friends. Unfortunately, due to its subtle symptoms and rarity, most women know little or nothing about ovarian cancer. Whether you already have ovarian cancer, know someone who does, or have been fortunate thus far not to have been touched by this disease, knowledge about it is a powerful tool for you. We encourage all women to learn about this disease, and to tell their family, friends and co-workers. Due to the almost silent nature of its symptoms, it is said that ovarian cancer whispers. This is why it is important for all of us to know what to listen for and how to listen. girlygirl P.A.R.T.S has raised over 130,000 for the research in ovarian cancer at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

_About girlygirl P.A.R.T.STM
Pre-Screening ,Awareness ,Required, To, Silence, …ovarian cancer.
Girlygirl P.A.R.T.S™ started simply with a discussion between two friends over a cup of coffee in March 2009. Jill Di-Tommaso, diagnosed with ovarian cancer in February 2008 (still battling) and her wonderful friend, Laura Smith, have become committed to raising awareness about this devastating disease.
Both on a mission and personal triumph for all the ovarian cancer survivors, they have put together Cape Cod’s 3rd annual 5k run/walk for the awareness of ovarian cancer. All proceeds go directly to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
The 4th annual 5k Run/Walk for Ovarian Cancer will be held: Saturday, September 07, 2013 at Sandwich Boardwalk/Town Neck Beach Sandwich, MA. This event is a major fundraising event and signature campaign to promote awareness of the often-subtle symptoms of ovarian cancer.
